Either the hilt's too long or the blade's too short.

It is definitely out of proportion, but it's meant to echo the proportions of the characters.

We decided at the last minute to spend the holidays with my wife's family, so I haven't made as much progress as I'd have liked to. But I did brew my first batch of beer, so that made up for it!

Here's a peek at Brand the Fighter and August the Healer. Both are still in-progress, but August is almost done.

Dropped in to tell you that these models look damn sweet. Good luck on finishing the project.

Something feels odd about the faces. Maybe it's the smooth, gradient lighting. Or the lack of actual eyebrows.

The eyebrows are obviously just hidden.

Yes.

They do have eyebrows, but are hidden on these two characters. I may go put a bit more detail into the faces, but I'm trying not to spend a lot of time on detail (which is hard for me!), mainly because I have many characters to finish.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I was out of town for the holidays, but I'm finally able to start putting time into this again. I think I'm ready to call August done:

I also started to do some work on the logo for the 'studio' I'll be publishing the game under: Square Roots

Looking good, Chris. I like that logo. A critique concerning August: The sharpness of the shading on his legs seems out of place, seeing as it's the only occurrence of that sort of shading on the model. The rest is rather smooth/gradual.

Yeah, that's fair. It was meant to convey the crispness of the crease of his pants. but it could probably use a bit more work. Thanks!

On the same token, the gradient on his hair is a lot stronger than on the rest of him, which makes it a bit more plastic-y.

I must have psychically heard you Kikaru, I went back and tweaked the hair highlights right after my last post!
