At the London Hackspace, the weekend after World of Love, get involved.

The space has a kitchenette, some sofas, a beer fridge, many fun tools (like a laser cutter and a 3d printer) and an arcade machine (with Puzzle Bobble on it). It also has desks and internet, but that's less exciting.

I've set up http://londonjam.eventbrite.com/ to get numbers.

Yes yes okay lets?

Sadly I'll have to give this one a miss; January is really busy for me, and the Cambridge jam is weekend right afterwards Sad

increpare: You're welcome to our sofa. Or our ballpit. Or possibly a bed, I can't remember if we'll have one spare. Either way, places for sleeping.

Can you register as a location and make it part of the official global game jam v21? Seems a shame to put it off - a dozen people have signed up already.

Though there is already a London location for GGJ, don't know how peeps would feel about splitting the mustard like that. Tiger

london's pretty big.  if plenty of people were going to go to this one anyway, I don't see the problem.

Though, I'd still happily attend a non-ggj jam that weekend myself -

If we have the people already, I guess there's nothing to worry about anyway, but it might be expedient to register it as a center.

[Just don't make me sit through any god-damn keynote videos]

We have 12 people currently signed up without any particular publicity - I was planning on mentioning it some more in the new year. I'm not too worried about having people attend. Even if there are too many gamejams and hackdays about these days.

(It's quite possible the space will have doubled in size by this point anyway, which would allow a lot more space. But I'm waiting for this to happen before I rely upon it happening.)

And I have now filled out the form to register it as a center - it needs approval before it will go live, but will then be at http://globalgamejam.org/sites/2011/london-hackspace. I'm not all that fussed about it, but I don't see a downside to attracting GGJers.

Oh, and there's now going to be more space - the Hackspace has bought the nextdoor unit, so there should be loadsaspace. Woo!
