I've scripted 7 pages as of now. I will be doing the music. My friend will do filming and editing. Depending on how quickly we want to get this done we may have to hire a programmer, otherwise I will do the programming. We will also hold a casting call in our town.

No sharks.
It's about how people with neural implants keep getting killed off in this city and one man must return to his dark past after his friend is killed so he can stop the evil and discover who the killer is.

And is it gonna be like choose your own adventure?  Like with branching story paths and whatnot?

Unfortunately it will be gritty and dark most of the time, I think. Excluding neon marquees and maybe SOME scenes that I will not reveal. Granted it's not going to be all gun metal grey and dog shit brown, no there will be colors just... darker shades of them... Concerned

Glad you are excited for this!
Game designer SWERY, who developed Deadly Premonition, is excited for this as well. When he sent me that message my friend and I started buckling down immediately!
Its actually pretty hard to script this. I'm trying to do more gameplay and less cinematics.

This sounds neat.  I've never played any FMV games, I'll have to look into it.
Looking forward to watching this progress. Hand Thumbs Up Left

Oh man, an FMV game, haven't seen that kind for a while now. That is, until DarkStar arrived very recently; Definitely try it out, it's amazing, though a bit slow-paced (partly because you can't skip a lot of FMVs). And of course, Phantasmagoria, and lets not forget Myst either as it had a few too.

Good luck with this project, I'll definitely try it out when you have something playable!

Forgot aboot Myst, mainly because I haven't played it. My roommate told me I should, though.

UPDATE:
My partner in crime checked out what I had of the script so far. He was digging it. It's going to be a cyberpunk noir. We have planned out all if not most of the characters, got our notes on them. We will rewrite the script, probably. Partner got all excited about the project again after reading the script and coming up with more ideas.

What's the player perspective? Is it like the old-school FMVs where you're either playing a cameraman (in an attempt to make it all firstperson and immersive), or a thirdperson thing where you're playing a bloke who is followed by a cameraman, or is it a second-person (is that even the right term?) voyeuristic thing where you're literally a person watching a bunch of videos?
