Inspired by Knytt and Minecraft, I decided to make an infinite, side-scrolling exploration platformer.

Controls:
Move left and right with arrow keys.
Jump with Z.

You can swim, double jump, and grab ledges.

First playable demo:
http://www.kikaru.com/wander_02.zip

To reset your game world, just delete the contents for the "QUAERO LEVEL" folder.

Current features:
  • Platforming engine.
  • Randomly generated, consistent, (psuedo) infinite terrain.
  • Animated character.

Planned features:
  • Caves
  • SFX
  • Music
  • Ambient sounds
  • NPCs/animals
  • Towns
  • Ruins
  • Varied environment types
  • Actual tilesets
  • Character customization
  • Day/night cycle
  • Weather
  • "Treasure" items

In no particular order.

Comments, complaints, and questions all appreciated.

Ran around untill i got bored (quite a long time for me) yeah caves are defenitly needed. Climbing walls not just hangign on ledges would be nice. Would also allow for higher variety in the surface. Don't forget to and chasms as well.

Ran well without problems for me.

A good start but yeah you kinda need something to do. Such as quests, caves, baddies, weapons and such.

Climbing would strike me as being a bit too close to Knytt, personally. But yeah, the current terrain is just a basic "move up and down" with a static water level. Later versions will be able to stretch several screens up, and have recognizable features like mountains, cliffs, oceans, forests, lakes, aquatic trenches, and ideally ruins.
