I'm surprised nobody mentioned Gun Girl 2. That's definitely top on my list.
My list (in the order I remember them): Gun Girl 2 Hero Core Revenge of the Titans Fault Line Attack of the Paper Zombies 10 Second War

The soundtrack is awesome but the game is boring.

The soundtrack is awesome but the game is boring. Bwa? No way! How far did you get? The game gets pretty frantic once you unlock a few of the extra weapons and abilities. @ANtY Don't know if Cortex Command counts when it's been in the same unfinished state for the last 3-4 years.

I suppose it still counts if you only tried it this year. Trying to think of any indie iOS games that I really enjoyed. It might just be Zombie Smash.

I'll throw in some nominees:
Transformice - certainly the pure most fun I've had all year with an indie game. Minecraft - for all the reasons noted above. Saira - beautiful atmospheric platformer.

Wow. I didn't play many games at all this year, it looks like. Norrland was interesting. And I enjoyed Hero Core, totally removed from my own contributions to it. Minecraft and VVVVVV are nice but I didn't get a chance to play them much. I need to check out Space Funeral; it looks like something I'd like.

Oh, I totally forgot VVVVVV even after seeing it a dozen times already in this list. Best Valentine's day surprise even. (don't read too much into that)

Hmm I haven't played enough from this years releases either. I would list the few games I did manage to play and enjoy, except I would feel that it is an unfair list because they aren't being compared to anything else to make it a top whatever list.

Hydorah L'Abbaye des Morts Space Funeral Super Meat Boy Desktop Dungeons Game Dev Story Streemerz Amnesia: Dark Descent (still playing through it, though) Faraway (still in development, so I don't know if it counts - it was playable at GAMMA4) Ninja Senki (maybe because I just played it, but I love the design and pixel art!) I'm sure Minecraft would be in there if I played it, but I'm afraid of starting it while I'm so busy. I also really enjoyed playing through VVVVVV, but I think the simplistic graphics (while totally suitable for the game) are kinda throwing me right now. I'm crushing on Ninja Senki too hard!
