An animation preview in what sense?
I plan on doing a video very soon. That should preview quite a bit of the animation going on.(although the environment doesn't animate too much yet)

Here's a screenshot of the day:


Next up:
- Finish HUD & Final adjustments to inbetween tiles and such
- Fix colors on those rocks & torches!!
- Slap together a video and then move on to the more "lively" elements Wink

Wow, the transitions help a lot. Two suggestions though: For the grass/water tile at the top, make a tiny bit of vertical land visible, so that the perspective is persistent- it will make it seem like it's being viewed from a slightly lower angle.
Also, right now you just appear to be doing jagged edges. For the path, I would suggest adding little bits of dirt here and there around the edges, or maybe shade from the grass?...

This is lookin' good aside from that!

It's looking great. I'm so glad you started doing this again. It's really turning into something epic!

I will gladly give you even more money once this gets completely finished! And considering the amount of time I have already given you (time also being money) you've practically made a pauper of me by now!

Update

- Added bushes(which you can cut down)
- Added various particle effects(including one for cutting down bushes)
- Added more transitions
- A spell icon will darken when you don't have the MP for it.
- Did a lot of spriting. SUPA SECRET!!
- Some rebalancing of combat
- Added a transition effect when going between levels
- Made textboxes. Still working on the look.
- Did some character designing for some Pocket Village NPCs
- Sketched out a rough diagram for the game's storyline(first pass)
- Sketched out the world map(first pass)
- Made some designs for a new system that will further deepen/intensify the combat
- Started thinking about changing the name for the game.
- Sketched a schematic for an in-game level editor & scripted event system.
- Thought about some fun easter eggs to implement. I guarantee you there will be some from Cave Story.(indie cred++?)
- Made it so spells can be cast from the inventory menu. Good for spells which you don't want to use frequently.
- Made it so credits(aka rupees lol) that are close to you will absorb into you automatically when you are guarding.
- I feel like there was more but I'll leave this here for now.

Pretty good for roughly a week's time. Most of that was done between last night and today. Maybe I should disconnect my internet more often?  Tongue

really liking the new tileset but the main character really stands out against it now.
Have you thought about replacing the black outline with a darker shade of the characters colours?
