I have no clue how to do hands... Maybe I will once my Pixelation thread is replied to. I think the contrast problem might because I picked a weird background, is this any better? If I make a game the background will probably be fairly dark.
A couple of little balls on the ends of the arms will be enough to do it.

cant be bothered anymore, i guess; slight change to the pose and some minor details you wont notice unless you try very hard EDIT: thought it would be cool to post all the versions of this, which i've been working on and off for about a month I like it a lot but the arm/tit shadow looks off. Maybe it's just me.

A deer is standing on its hind legs on his eyes, and it's not balanced too well.

I think he's probably being facetious with the "their I beams".
We should have a whole thread devoted to interpreting that sprite, I saw Chinese donuts poking up some nostrils.

A bit old, but I'll post it anyway. Was actually made in early 2010, but I guess I forgot the year o.O If you guys like it, I could post all the enemy sprites for you to see too. =) -Dan

Yeah, I remember that game. Cute stuff. I wouldn't mind seeing the enemy sprites, too.

Thanks. Took a bit to compile all of them, but here they are. I have a tileset too that I might grab and put up hah. Now that I'm completely done with the game, it's time to reveal what was behind the curtain =P. -Dan

Tinkering with some bits for possible future Treasure Treasure. Very WIP. Needs lots more variety mainly, and a far background. Needs a different wall tile for where it joins the floor because it looks a bit jarring. Think I could get away with the rope bridge being made of separate tiles like this, that would move up and down. Maybe half-width tiles actually for smoother movement.

Those outlines look weird, but apart from that, very cool! Loving those ground tiles.

First real sprite work for me, by which I mean the first sprite work from me that I don't completely despise. Critique till your fingers bleed.

Your choice of colours is pretty average, they look over saturated and don't harmonise. I can't imagine the sprite in a game world because of the huge range of colours you've used on him, any one of them will clash with a background. The colour's you've chosen for shadow don't work well because they are just slightly darker shades of their lighter counterparts, add in some different hues into the shadows. You have a few jagged edges in the linework. http://fleh.sereneworx.com/skitch/skitched-20100921-130728.pngThe proportions, while clearly intentionally cartoon-esque, don't do much for me. On that point, the eyes are a bit too big for my liking. He doesn't have a neck which is odd, because the way you've built him it feels like there should be one. It almost looks like his torso is in front of his head. His hands are completely different sizes, and if that's an attempt at perspective I'd suggest you take it away. Perspective in such a small thing as a sprite is mostly useless. Similarly, the legs and shoes are different sizes. Deer stuff!
