This is cool; reminds me of some good DOS games. The human character doesn't look as good as the scenery though. The shading style doesn't seem as subtle and detailed.

Thank you!, True about the shadows, was for lack of color (4 color tile) but maybe can add some gradient, so I think all is well too.

I also did some small sketches to see what it would be.

Hey guys,

Here is some of the stuff I've been putting together for a while now, just curious what internet thinks.

All these are going towards a game I'm developing on my own. I'd appreciate any feedback you have.

A quick design experiment with a title and extra stuff. Kinda went with an idea like wires for those lines in the extrusion. The text says SEND using the 3x3 typeset I designed recently.

These are animations I made for Forstride's Traversia for a chance to be able to work on the animations for it, since I think that'd be a good experience for myself. Still waiting to hear his word on whether or not I got the part, but I'm not too concerned if it won't happen for me, since it was still a pretty good practice for myself and I had fun doing it. Smiley
The sprite design is by Forstride. I based these animations for it off of this side-view image he provided in the thread asking for an animator.

These are the first ever actual walk cycles I've actually managed to fully complete for usage, and I spent a long time improvising until I started getting it right. The first one I finished is more of a skip animation (since that felt a bit easier to conceptualize and design for me), but after being asked to make a less skippy one since it didn't match too well and also had a somewhat strange stance that I didn't notice at first, the second one finally came along. I probably saved about 30 different versions of walk animations cause I kept feeling so unsure of the directions I was taking, and kept changing my mind on things.

I also fixed up one of the rotation animations for the goat character (Francis) of my game I'm designing.

It was two stupidly simple fixes that made it look a whole lot better for me.
There's a few things that I see I can revise to make it entirely accurate looking, but the goal here was to make something I can take reference images out of (that's why I make a lot of turntable animations) and still have the default sprite in the middle so I can see where things are in relation to it as well as use it to help make transition animations from the idle stance to any other animation.

Stole some colors from a friend's Minecraft texture pack to make this.

What's he doing, slapping his knee? Kind of disturbing, actually.

Hi everyone!
I'm new here, but I thought I would upload something I made a while ago. I usually call myself a programmer, but I would like to learn this art wizardry too.  Wizard

My grass looks like this

Obviously not the same style you were going for, and the grass colors itself are weird (Needed for the lighting and stuff in my game), but you maybe could try to emulate this and see what you learn.

Thanks for the reply. I made it a while ago, and it's not my best work at all. I'll remember this next time I'll need to draw some grass. My goal was to create something that could be tiled and used as a flat block though.

I like your style by the way!
