That guy

That fourth guy with the hat.  I know him.  He's Notch.  He made Minecraft

I'm pretty good at this, aren't I, guys?  Do I get a prize?  Guys?
The last guy reminds me of Booker from Bioshock: Infinite

Booker Konjak Devitt.

Here are my guesses:

A Carboni
Zoe Quinn
Terry Cavanagh
Notch
Chevy Ray or Petri Purho
? Best beard in the indie scene but no idea
Dean Rather
?
?
?
?
Konjak

I like everything but the suspiciously golden hay piles.
Haha, you are the first one pointing this out, thanks. I'll try to make it look more like a pile of coins.

I had to check my privilege like 3 times reading that.

I actually think this looks a lot better in the blown up version, it looks more organic. What size are you planning to display it?

Also it looks to me like it's a slight top down perspective rather than a straight front view, is that correct?

Its from the color palette I'm creating. First I am creating for pixel art.

I do plan on the art to be up scaled. The art is for a platformer. Yes, you're correct about the perspective. Sort of. The lighting is supposed to be top and from the screen.

Another single color 16x16 exercise. I really want to work on a project outside of my personal project some time.

EDIT: Here's an upscaled version:

Hey-o! I'm doing the art and animation for a roguelike rhythm game called Crypt of the NecroDancer. I'm making it with Ryan Clark, Alec Holowka, Danny B, Kevin Regamey, and Evan Balster Smiley I've been making art for it for the past few months and here are a few things I've made

We're doing open development on the game's forum here where I'm posting all of my work for the game! I've got a lot of work ahead of me, but I like what we have so far Smiley

I don't know why, but I am extremely incapable of bringing pictures to life through animation. Something about it is just so fucking puzzling to me. The game i'm working on at the moment requires me to do a run cycle for the protagonist. This is all I have, complete shit I tell you.

It's one of those "every time I try animating a run cycle the character looks like he's doing a derp ass dance across the level" situations.

Help please?  Beg

it requires a better understanding of skeletal systems; to make the learning easier i'd recommend doing the animations in stick figure/wireframe roughs first before filling them out; saves you a lot of time and repositioning

I don't know if I can help but you can try following these basic tips:

  • when the left arm goes to the front, the right leg goes to the front, its always the opposite;
  • if the character is running, there are times when his feet dont touch the ground, if there were 3 frames, it would be two opposites "flying" and one on the ground;
  • try moving the character one pixel up when he isn't touching the ground, it will give it more motion

Decided to work on a game full-time. I'm not much of an artist, but I hope this isn't bad. Unfortunately, I think animating the bloody thing is going to be my biggest challenge.

I'm considering removing the bottom hard pixel on the right hand, not sure if I really want too though.
