Dang, you replied just as I was leaving for work earlier. But alright now, here goes:
I made some 'adjustments', so here's a side-by-side:
Again, though, to start, I love most everything in this. 8x tiles with 6x fonts are not easy, and you made a pretty great one
Now onto the critiques (muahaha)
First, you misspelled "minute" on the last line
I'm not sure the rounded/bulged inner pixels of the O/G/C/J/U/A look good. I cut them out on the right image.
I brought the apostrophes down a pixel, to keep them aligned in their rows better (don't look like commas for the line above, too).
The N's I thought would be better if both up-strokes were 2x, but then I realized for the sake of the style that the right side is fine as 1-thick.
1 pixel was added the the Y.
I added an ampersand (&) so the one row is less butting against the numbers
It looked like Run 'N Pun was off-tiled at first, so I "corrected" it, and then when I looked at it again, I realized that it was a "custom" 96-wide line, so it's actually fine. So ignore the right image's difference.
Though, actually the italicized U's in that line I changed to reflect the normal ones.
The 1's had the top cut-short by a pixel, gotta keep that horizontal 1-pixel consistency
The 9 looks good (I have issues whenever I try and get mine like that at larger sizes, so kudos), yet the 6 looks off. But that's a personal problem, so no worries there.
I modified the 5 a little.
You really like that type of 7 apparently, but I made a slightly different one.
The up-middle of the W was extended by 2 pixels.
Ok, I think that's everything. I'm not sure if that's a "critique" or just me showing how I would do it differently, and making a list of the changes. Most everything I did was for the sake of getting/keeping the letters tight, consistent, and readable.
The stuff I didn't mention, I liked (or liked enough I didn't feel like changing
). Good job keeping the middle E stroke, H/A/F horizontals at the same height. Really like the "dotted" tiles affect. Nice almost-black, and the orange and tan compliment it quite well. Purple of the board seems a little weird (too saturated?), but you're just repeating colors, so that's fine.
If you have any thoughts, questions, or are offended at my essay's worth of words, lemme know
[weird edit: apparently my desktop renders purple-ish, whereas my iPhone shows blue. When I said purple I was referring to the tea cup on the board. I really need a new monitor…]
