Do you create them in a pixel-based painting program or do you use a font tool? I'd like to see some text examples using your fonts.

You should create a thread for all these fonts.

Just MSpaint. The BitFontReader program, I can use that for some of these. But it has a size limit.

(But how will I know everyone sees the fonts?? jk. I can trim these to every two weeks if that's better)
Though actually, yeah another thread would be good, could open up for questions without hogging this thread's space- good idea Smiley

@ChrisWearly

Dang, that one font even has special characters! How much are you going to charge for your fonts when you are done? Hopefully not $5000.00 like "JHA Bodoni Ritalic."

It's takes years to make a decent consistent font that works on all size with a correct typographic grey and rythm.

In reverse tilt, no less! Wow, I can see it being expensive, but not 5k. But, to each their own. If it's being bought, he's earned his money XD

What were you going for here, any inspirations? Do the letters /have/ to fill the 16x boxes?

It's too hi-res... jk. Looks good! I would use it more for title work, or at most, paragraph Header/Credit text.
What was your inspiration, too?

Special characters yup, and I forgot to make ligatures for some reason- so those too!
On price: Idk yet! Haven't done research to know what would be good to charge. I'm not gonna swindle people (especially since I know we're all indie devs), but I want to make some good side-change from this if I can Smiley

I got tired of being crap at drawing (or animating, or anything artistic for that matter) so I spend yesterday doing this:

As soon as I saw it on a white background I felt like it was too dark, could use some advice I guess.

Looks good, however the back leg not moving at all is a little odd looking.

Kilig: noun. It is the sudden feeling of an inexplicable joy one gets when something romantic or idealistic occurs. I don\'t think there\'s an English word or phrase for it. even Butterfly Stomach doesn\'t do justice to \"kilig\".

Agreed. The cloth should be moving, at the very least; the knee would move as well, even if the foot stayed planted. It's still pretty good, though.

A character to help you out in Gearend. Name's "Dr. Heart".

My battle is never over Ninja

though I really hope that after revisiting legs movement and probably shadows and ugh... and after that, one of these days I'll start next one (it will be kick, I guess), don't want to do lot of backtracking.

As soon as I saw it on a white background I felt like it was too dark, could use some advice I guess.

Always use an average grey background, or better, an actual background of the game. White background will lead you to make something that looks nice on a white background, but it will look to bright when placed on your background.
