An armored knight (Batman-style) for my current arcade/action gamedev. Not sure whether I should add a cape, though...

Working on a walk cycle, very rough, feedback appreciated

Needs shoulder movement, and the arms seem to freeze in the forward and back position. I know you generally have a hang time for arms but maybe due to the number of frames that takes up too much of the total animation.

Walk cycle progress

You were right Shipright, adding extra frames to the arms improved it. Not sure if the shoulders need more movement?

@beetleking22 JEEZ the way you make foliage is beautiful
@supajackle those are nice and nostalgic

No reason to keep these secret anymore, they're from a scrapped bonus part of my game where I used Metal Slug inspired art style,

Glad I could help. It does look better. I would definitely play with the shoulders. When you walk your arms don't swing at the elbows. It might be the sprite is too low res to do much but I think you can use the shirt collar to show some movement too.

It looks good as it is though, I wouldn't get too hung up on it.

my progress, unfinished as always (I understand that some things are actually goes better with backtracking, like I get that boots should be shaded similiarly only after adding that kick, next will be punches and I plan to keep fixing this while be adding new rough frames

Lotsa good work on this last page.
@Raku - Cool sprites, as usual.
@supajackle - Nice Sam and Max sprites.
@Beetleking - Yeah, I agree with Raku. Really nice attention to the foliage.
@f__a__b - Hah, cool. I'm not a fan of one-pixel limb sizes, but I think the wide shoulders and wider hips kinda sells it. Nice work.
