Castlevania's tileset is way, way bigger than Zelda's.

Edit: click for the whole stage.

Bought Aseprite last night. Doodled this guy trying it out.

Tonight I tried to clean it up, add some color, and a basic animation.

I don't really do larger animations a lot, I had some trouble even though its only 2 frames. Though I want to add a few more to smooth it out a bit tomorrow.

Hey, this looks really nice! Huge fan of T H I C K outlines in pixel art. I feel like the AA kinda hurts the readability on the smaller sprite though, especially on the face. Not sure what else you could to to keep it consistent with the portrait though...

Hi guys

I'm very new user and a very newbie on pixel art, i got inspired from Dead Cells game from Motion twin studios and in those last days i decide to get practice on 3D to 2D pixel art

I create a model (and texture) in Maya and make a simple run animation based on a this "toony" gif find on Pinterest

My Model

After that i renderer with custom optins and crerate sprites and animation

and this si the final result :D

(i'm not very good in animation i know  Sad )

but hope you like the result.

First of all, no need to talk down on yourself like that.

It looks good already, there are things to improve, and you will with practice. Treat yourself kindly and try to nurture a positive growth mindset like that! Smiley

The main feedback I have (which might just be a result of the GIF conversion) is that the momentum feels off, like you're turning the slowmo cam on and off.

Another detail is that the body is fully rigid from pelvis to the head - it bobs up and down like one solid block. In real life, the different parts (pelvis, torso, head) move more like a rigid, springy chain.

Thats because i don't understand yet very well the principle of animation ( eg. difference between frames and seconds ), i'm try to find some tutorials or some books to read that teach me those kind of things

Yes, if i see it over and over again i see this "weaird" movement too, i'll try to improve this run cycle with more movement :D

Thank you very much for your precius feedback  Grin

Not an animator myself, so this is about as much as I can help you.

I remember this one being pretty good (supposedly) for getting some basics about body motion across:

http://gas13.ru/v3/tutorials/sywtbapa_breathing_life_into_sprites.php

.. although I also remember there were some critiques of it by actual animators - I'm sure they'll share their constructive criticism soon enough Smiley

Various animal, monster and environmental sprites I've made over last couple years for misc stuff. Most of these were either experiments or for personal projects, but the pangolin sprite was a request I did for someone's RPG Maker game).

Fat Pug Studio's boss warning overlay is The Best Thing.

Background I did for Headcannon's Darkwing Duck demo:

Finished this art yesterday.
It's not a game art, just made it for myself.
