Nice idea! But why the bananas want to kill the apples? Is there any reason?
Not yet. And I highly doubt there's going to be an easy way of fitting that super specific scenario smoothly into the game. Full disclosure, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to narrative. I usually get demotivated by this kind of stuff but right now my main goal is to finish it, whatever it is.

Ah ok, sorry, my intention wasn't to demotivate you Anyway I think you don't need a story, who plays the game probably will not think too much at the story, if the aesthetic is good and the game is fun!

Had an idea on how to accomplish this in GML - flatscreen TV that cycles between a set of animated screens: Edit: more recent version, with mixed screen sizes:

Wow thanks for all the friendly comments for my humble beginnings. Development will be sporadic because I'm working on multiple projects in free time. I like alternating between projects, it gives me a fresh pair of eyes more often.
I modified the art a bit and have running animation now (see gif thread).

I'm not sure of whether this is acceptable, as it's not technically game-art; instead, it's simply pixel-art in the style of game-art. My apologies if it's not okay. ^^; That said, this is a bit of fan-art that I recently made: a retro-RPG-style -portrait and -(partial-)sprite of a character from the webcomic Daughter of the Lillies! (Link to the comic: www.daughterofthelilies.com ) (These were originally scaled up for posting on Twitter, and now scaled down again via the "width" keyword to the "image" tag; my apologies if the latter has incurred some scaling issues! ^^; )

@Ordnas thank you, nada it's actually the nes palette -but I guess the layout would be cool for a baby pico experience @Thaumaturge pixel art is pixel work it might be because of the scale, but I read the face as a gorilla
