annabelle you continue to create awesomeness!!  I am worried a little bit that the screen size might inhibit the gameplay some, just because you can't see very much of the level at once, but it could still work great.  Giant robot shark is pure win.

yeah i was worried about that too, i think in the accual version of this when i get to making it, ill increase the screen size.. to like 160x96  itll also still be 3 tones, but i think im gonna make it palletized, so on screen it can be 3 different tones, like instead of white/black/grey it could be like a light green, a middle blue green and then black or dark blue or something,   it can give the different levels different moods, while still retaining fairly extreme lofi

as SOON as i finish my film im to start hacking around in SDL again.  2 more days.

any more feedback - or even ideas... please let me know!

Just think well before you start it. Ideas that pop up out of nowhere can be cool, but you should make sure you'll want to spend a lot of time into this.

It does, however, have immense awesome potential.

yeah, i will be doing a lot of thinking, but

last time i tried doing an endeavor like this, i spent so much time trying to figure out how i'd do everything that i never actually got to doing it.

doing is learning?

I think so.

Then start small. Tongue Plan a single level first and do only stuff for that (including art and sound effects). If you get bored/burned out/tired of the idea then can it. Otherwise make it into something awesome.

I sort of liked the small screen size, though. I saw it as one of those single-screen-at-a-time platformers, you know? I love those games. But yeah, whatever you do, I'm sure it'll be friggin awesome.

@xion -> the screen would still be really small.. its the same height, just slightly wider, just to give the player slightly more view, of whats ahead.  also it makes it a more normal aspect ratio.  i liked the small screen too but i thought about it working and increasing the width just a small bit seems like it would make things function loads better.

Do you have to forget Mario exists to play any platformer? Or maybe forget Gunstar Heroes exist to enjoy Noitu Love 2?

No, because they're not the same game with a cat stuck in.

Annabelle, awesome stuff. As usual.

Ohh, nice Smiley

And don't worry, BaronCid was asking lots of people to do mockups using his resolution and palette.

Yay xion! i think that if mine has problem of limited sight though,  yours might have it worse.. although i suppose it only really matters if the gameplay is remotely action-oriented
