I should be able to make all those dates. I'm like 10 minutes away from the location you listed. In the worst case scenario I could walk there from my house.

I live in Chicago--I'd be down for a Chicago TIGJam.
Glen Ellyn...isn't that out by Wheaton? Any chance we could pick someplace a little more, you know, accessible by L?

Yes, we're still on! Workshop 88, in Glen Ellyn, this Saturday the 16th from 12pm-whenever! More details tomorrow.

So how many people are going? If we've only got a few, it might be worth considering rolling this into a future EGS Chicago or IGDA event... I'd hate for only a couple people to show up on Sat.

I'd hate to disappoint, but it sounds like we've got a low turnout. I'd rather do this and make it a big thing we can all enjoy. Let's plan for April 30th and I can get some of the guys from the IGDA to come. Are more of you guys downtown or in the suburbs?

okay. it's about a two hour ride or more for me since i'm from rockford. plus i have school, so i can only really make it on weekends. as long as it happens at some point, i've been itching for a game jam.

I personally know of several dozen indies living in the city. Even if more of them lived in the suburbs, suburbs are in all directions around Chicago, and are fairly widely dispersed. Unless there is an unusual concentration of developers in one particular suburb, it really wouldn't make any sense to have a game jam out there: Chicago would be convenient for city-dwellers, and centrally located for suburbanites. Just sayin'.

My only suggestion is that we make the Chicago meets in, um, Chicago. Workspace 88 is like 2 hours away by train for me D:

Yep. It'll be at Game Pazzo in Downer's Grove; this'll mostly be a get-together/industry talk event, though I really want to get a game jam going soon. Hopefully something IGDA sponsored and *in* the city next month. Info for the 30th: http://www.meetup.com/IGDA-Chicago/events/17305022/
