Hello !  Roll Eyes

I would like to enter this competition, I hope it's open to anybody.

I started to make a "procedural" tower defense game.
At the beginning, the game asks you to drag & drop any file in it, and then generates the level and the enemies from the file's content.

This is what I got from an empty .txt file :

From a shortcut :

And this is the current game fed with itself :

Now, I would like the player to add new towers by dragging & dropping files in the game.
The towers rate, range & dmg are generated from the file's content. You always get the same tower with one specific file.

Drag'n'drop 'my computer' or better yet 'The internet'.   Grin

I like the idea, and it seems to work so far. Will those be the final graphics, or are those just test shots?

I very much like the current look!  simple and clean,. I hope it stays reletively minimalistic,. just my tast.  Not sure about the file draging part,. I am partial to simple random seeds, myself, but go for it!  kinda vib ribbon-esc.

I think I'll keep it simple.

The entire file is stored in a temporary array, so these would possibly be too big (unless they're one-second porn movies  Shocked).

Ok, I'll think about it, I might even do it.

Not sure about the file draging part,.
Me neither (the feedback for the dragged stuffs is quite slow on my computer) but I'll try.

Another screenshot :

The actual game will feature a kind of "tetris" gameplay.

I like your style  :D

I am very interested as to how the current screenshots would translate to Tetris-style gameplay.

Isn't that just... a randomized grid?

Maybe this one will help.

Is that... when you create a tower from a file, it comes attached to some 'dead' blocks which you have to place next to it all in one piece, so you end up having to fit your new towers around the space occupied by your old towers?

If that's the case, I presume you'd end up with a generally weaker set of enemies/more powerful towers to compensate for the relative lack of density?

wowzers, this keeps getting better,. i like the tetris buisness,  all though not exactly shure how it will be workin',. . however you can not go too far wrong adding two proven winners,. and then multiplying by some random procedural madness!  and that sweet minimal graphic style is ace,. hope you don't forget the sounds,. too many people skimp on sound and that drives me to tears as I need good sounds to get the full experiance. .

Shocked Manlove alert?

This does look rather nice, and I think a simple, minimal soundtrack would fit the game perfectly. You could even make it super PCG by just making it play random chords, just one at a time, every now and then, and I think the effect would be pretty good!
