two Samurais face each other in a duel.
so the plan is each player has a button. hitting the button draws the sword the opposing player has a few second to press their button to block if they don't they will be slashed.
so this is pretty early and I am sure I will need to add more strategy then that. also my plan is to do this in a Sumi-e style or japanese woodblock.

Man, I fought those guys night and day, they wouldn't leave me alone. It did inspire me to make a game about it and I give you full license to use any of my ideas from it. In fact, I insist that you do. Boy, those samurai were queer.

thanks everybody. I have a sort of build working with just words instead of the poses.
Turbo brother do you think I could get a hold of the sprites for that game. I am having trouble finding good reference for sword stances.

Background Mockup!! I built an engine so far, and working on the character design now. I wont be technically animating them. the players will seem like a series of ink drawings (which technically thats an animation but it wont be smooth it will be very jerky) I will have Idle Draw Sword Slice and block slice and hit. how to have character designs soon.

Art style win. I hope the gameplay and audio play work with that theme, it should be a great game!

There are much less smooth and sweeping strokes, Japanese calligraphy is more of "SHOVE THE BRUSH ONTO THE PAPER, SWEEP IT OFF THE PAPER REALLY FAST" The edges that look like the brush touching the paper as it goes across are actually the brush repositioning as it's being moved, if you know what I'm talking about.
