So a quad of us Octodad devs at DePaul are doing a capstone project based around 2-player competitive play and fluid physics, sexual blob reproduction, hair shaders, iPad multitouch controls, Windows kinect controls, 3D hats, etc. and it just so happens that it will fit perfectly for this compo! So we're basically going to combine our school project, whatever the theme is for Global Game Jam, and this compo into some madness. I hope we have something special for you in a month!

Maybe just maybe, windows people will be able to play it networked with a mouse.

I might sound stupid, but what is that list? You're doing all of that in one project, or you pick some elements off this list?

We want to do all of it in one project! (with multiplatform iOS and windows builds probably using gamekit, or just ogre). Obviously some things may not happen, think of it as a list of proposed features ordered by priority / likelihood.

How do you combine iPad multitouch with Windows kinect? Different input schemes?

They will most likely be separate input schemes for the separate platforms. (I'm on the team too.)

PTibz is wrong. We're using iPads with virtual representations of our hands that are then velcroed to our hands to operate the kinect.

PTibz is right.

Frottage.

I can't wait!

Although using ipad to control the windows version while the other player controls the kinect would be theoretically possible, it is not planned, but awesome in its ridiculousness.

3D hats are like 2D hats but with a z coordinate. 3D hats are like Avatar, but with hats.

Manbaby army game controlled with pyrokinesis exclusively, DO IT!

Anyways, you should use human languages to inform people of your plans, I don't get, like, any of it.

Maybe this will clear up some of those nagging questions.

Team Neil presents...
Nasty Jazz (Working Title)

Target Platforms: iPad, PC Windows (Kinect)
Target Age: 16-30
ESRB: E-E10, Casual fighting/RTS game, but may contain abstract violence and sensuality.

Rogolops Don’t Cry...
Fight for survival as a hairy Rogolop in this brutal two-player blob fest.  As a Rogolop you live for only two gods: Survival and Style. Maneuver the Rogolop’s amebous fluid body into shapes to penetrate, pinch, impregnate and pummel your opponent until one Rogolop dies or gives birth to blob offspring.

They’re Too Busy Wrestling For Dominance!
Perform special moves with finger/hand gestures and intense top-down flow strategy to engage special animations and attacks.  Wrestle in a variety of scenic 3D Rogolop birthing arenas. Avoid the rolling acorns of doom in Rogo Forest, caress the dreamy cloudscapes of Sky Lord Sky, accessorize your Rogolop in Melt Town Mall, and gain the high ground in Castle Globulus Butterkeep collecting new live body jewelry, fashion apparel, and mating/fighting organs in your virile conquest.

The Virtues Of Blobhood...
Intuitive control over a tactile blob-manipulation interface
Offline machine-learning-trained AI
Intense soundtrack influenced by Gregorian chanting and whale sounds.
Stake your claim in a variety of surrealist locales
Multiplayer competition using your individualized, fluid strategy

Sure does! And the best thing is it doesn't make the game sound less insane. I like it!

We all go to DePaul University. The class we're taking is basically our "senior project" and they let you pick and choose your own ideas for it.
