[Super Party Push Maze]
Mock-up:

// Sprites courtesy of The Squidi.net Free Pixel Project, more info at : http://www.squidi.net/pixel //

Synopsis:
Basically think maze with doors and keys and such, except a good majority of the maze tiles are sokoban style crates. Except you can push more than one at a time and you can also pull one towards you. There's also the option to explode lemmings/LBP style and appear in another map location. This can be good, putting your close to the end or bad considering this option will take 15~20 seconds to allow respawn, so it's not abused endlessly.
The goal? To eventually reach the key-locked door at the end of the maze and free yourself. The problem? Staying alive, keeping keys, getting stuck, avoiding traps, monsters, and all sorts of dangers.

Currently planned features:
  • 8 Player Challenging Network Puzzle Action
  • Several Different Block Types
  • Many Keys and Power Ups

More to come.  Panda

So kinda like Bomberman, only Sokoban instead?

Love the concept!

I love sokoban, so it would be great to see you pull off a fun multiplayer version.  Good luck, I really hope you pull this one off!

I like the concept, but mostly I came to say this:
Don't ever change this title!

This reminds me a lot of Bomberman, as Dragonmaw astutely pointed out. I think some power-ups would do nicely, and maybe even moving conveyor belts, and other environment obstacles; study the Bomberman games for TurboGrafx-16, as they have some great ideas!

And while you have the old turbo-graphix out, drop in battle lode runner for some additional inspiration.  I believe both games are available for download on the wii as well.

Pushing mechanics are a go!   PandaHand Thumbs Up Right
Starting on pulling next.

And considering how powerful being able to push like 12 blocks at a time is, it may end up more like Bomberman in the respect of a flame power-up type deal, where at default you can only move one box at a time but as you level up you can push a greater number of boxes.

That sounds like a good idea. Pushing huge rows of boxes is unbalanced, haha.

This is a really cool concept. Environmental flexibility is awesome.
I also would like to encourage you to keep that name.

You could make it like. Um. That other game by the guy who made Passage. Who, Me?

Er, anyways, point is, you could push multiple things in that game, but you pushed them much more slowly.  So if you try and push 12 blocks in a row, it ends up taking the same time as if you'd pushed them individually (and thus anyone you're trying to trap or whatever has plenty of time to react).

This is a cool concept, Sokoban failed for not being able to push two blocks.

Cool!  It looks like you can pick up more than one block at a time... is that a change to your original concept? or just for testing?

Just testing out the full extent of everything. Probably limit that much more in the actual game.

Slow progress, the real world creeped up on me for a minute, but things are back on track.

Lava action!
