Now that we've sent out previews of Owlboy, we've noticed one thing that keep happening. The players don't know what to categorize Owlboy's pixel art as, often calling it 16-bit, which is ofcourse wrong. There are very few games released today that actually ARE 16-bit.

We decided to come up with a name that could define Owlboy's art (and any newer pixel art games for that matter) - and started calling it Hi-Bit.

I've writting a lil more about it on our blog - http://dpadstudio.com/Blog/postHibit.html (and made a list of games to check out for examples).

I just read your interview in VICE;
http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/inside-the-exhausting-10-year-journey-to-release-owlboy

It was quite touching, here's hoping I get to play the game next week.

Ten? Said eight elsewhere yesterday...
And the VICE article says ten years even tough it mentions they started working on 2007; 9 years ago... I guess 10 is more clickbaity or something...

Godspeed you lovely folks! In some ways I will be sad at release when one of these long awaited gorgeous games has stopped being this ethereal promise of glory. There's a kind of a warm safe buzzy sensation in the knowledge that someone somewhere is working on something great for the future. I guess thanks for being such a fixture for so long just truckin' along and can't wait to play your game. Just a couple of days more to go!

I literally had a "eh at least Konjak is still working on Iconoclasts" as the last sentence in my post but I figured I'd keep it focused on Owlboy at the last second  Cheesy

Is Arby's taking tips from the guy running the official Sonic channel? This is cool and all but feels a bit surreal or something.

Looks like a coordinated marketing campaign. The similarity in photography style is too strong to be a coincidence.

I'm pretty sure that Sonic was mimicking Arby's style to poke fun at them.
