Scroll down for latest test buildThis is an idea I was toying with while trying to sleep the other night.
The idea is basically a platforming game like Smash Bros. but without any direct kills. Instead the players must pick up and use powerups to make lure eachother into the traps in the map.
Examples of powers could be:
- Switch position with the other player
- Freeze the opponent (to make them fall into pits or push them over edges)
- Reverse gravity for opponent (think VVVVVV)
I haven't decided on a graphical style/theme yet, but it'll end up being programmer art no matter what. I just kinda want the game to be silly.

As a lot of the powers will probably depend on people jumping over a pit or somethink similar I'll need to make a way to keep players from standing in a corner to avoid it.
I haven't decided whether I'm going to develop this in Java or C++ (+SFML). Java will make porting so much easier (I have Linux on both my PC's) but I prefer SFML (or SDL) when it comes to games.
