Thanks! I've been working almost nonstop on this one stage so far.
Also, putting more action into it.

Sorry if you've already gone over this, but do you have sales/distribution plans? I'd gladly throw money at my screen for this.

Ah, it saddens me that so many people ask me about money regarding my game. Someone even asked me the same thing on a YouTube comment just yesterday.
No worries, though, I don't mind answering it.

It's going to be free. I will never accept any money for this game at all.
I'm making this because I want to, not for any monetary gain, and I will always keep it that way.

I would only ever accept money if I was hired to do something as part of a game, or as donations or something.

I might as well post this here. some unused sprites from several bonus levels that I was putting in, but decided to scrap partway through for various reasons.

I hope this gives you an idea of why the Bonus stages are so time consuming, and what they might entail. Don't worry, these that have been taken out have been replaced by ones that are much better and improved.

I'm doing my best.

Aaaw, man! But that status portrait looked so sweet! Can't say I'll miss that brawler version of him, though. The all-black outfit and leather belt was trying a bit too hard.

Also, that sand beetle totally reminds me of ActRaiser. You know, the one you couldn't hit  because the combat in that game was TERRIBLE.

aha thank you.
And the brawler's costume was supposed to look like it was trying too hard, I went for an over-the-top design like Streets of Rage would do.
And if you thought the combat in ActRaiser was terrible, try playing ActRaiser 2.

Thank you! I appreciate it!

Here's a screenshot from a stage I've been adding more parts to:

bonus:

Shame the brawler minigame was cut, would been fun if it had a hidden co-op mode.

Thank you for the fanart!
Co-op wouldn't make much sense in this single-player game, though.

Hello

Since i downloaded your game I am giving some feedback.

-=Level: First Tree=-
#If you don't take take that speed bonus/soul (purple), you have to restart the level, because the level is unbeatable without that.

-=Level: Machine gun foilage  (isn't it foLIage?)=-
#sun rays- really nice
#trees in the foreground- ugly

STAGE2:
#I climbed up by the right edge. Extremely difficult especially with those flying flower things. Prize= difficult enemy (the man with the helmet) -_-
#The grey large cat should fly past me after attacking- i can't dodge it, when it decides to land right before me
#When a lot of stuff came out of that plant thing (spitting fireballs) a star-like thing got stuck in a wall
#But the real frustration: the 1st boss fight. I have to replay entire level to get back to boss, when i die? Why not make an extra level/map location for a boss? The boss fight thingy was the main reason why stopped trying to beat the game.

#In my opinion the items disappear too quickly

All in all gorgeous game, love the polished look and anime/manga style look. Some faults, but still awesome.

Wish you luck and quick programming fingers,
Z. W.

PS. Loved the intro movie and the cut scenes. You have really put your heart into it.

I don't want to think this but I do - the promotional art is like 10x better than the game art, on a scale that can't actually be quantified.

I'm a total pixelhead and I feel it's my asshole duty to point out that the game art is super clogged up in the mid range of everything, sprites don't pop as well as they could and the detail level on the sprites and the background feel crude compared to the concept art (it could look better, I promise)

I can't realistically ask you to change your art really, though - actually finishing a game is a much bigger and more important feat than making slick pixel art.

But .. I just had to say it. Oh, and your game looks fantastic and your design sensibilities are especially titillating to me.

Good day
