My Versus Compo entry will be an XNA Mugen game. No gimmick, I'm just hoping to make a decent, good-looking beat-em-up that's immediately accessible. The game, tentatively titled DreamGirls' Duel, will be modest in scope: two new DreamCasters' Duel characters (based on real-life models who have expressed interest in the project) + one level + XNA Mugen. Characters will be 3d pre-rendered into 2d. here's the "finished for the sake of this competition!" dwnld:

Over 3000 frames of animation. Special thnx to OmegaZX! I hope you like it.

Make sure you add the Versus message icon to your thread's first post. And good luck.

Hi, I've been too busy to socialize in the forums but everyone's games are looking good! Let's be friends. I hear the internet is a social thing nowadays. Hey friend, which costume do you prefer? Also, plz suggest a color scheme. http://www.dreamcastersduel.com/images/sheebaOG.swfhttp://www.dreamcastersduel.com/images/sheebaNew.swfI should have everything skinned and rigged tomorrow! Animated on Monday! Then, a talented coder and all-around good guy will join me and help get everything working in XNA Mugen! Together, we will vanquish our enemies. Man's collective nightmare will reach critical mass and beckon tides of gore! The blood of the dispatched will flow and flow until the cataract deluges and destroys humanity and as the light of a million lives are extinguished and a pall falls over the... no wait, that's going too far. We'll just win. And play lots of DreamGirl's Duel.

It's worth mentioning that I can render out to vector, so if anyone out there thinks they can make a good flash fighting game, plz get in touch!

I have to ask, did I miss smthg? Is there a contest rule stating only 8bit graphics? I re-read but didn't see anything... so here's a quick win pose... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JfZqeYxnwI#normalPlz let me know if I missed smthg and I'm slaving over 3d models and anims for naught...

Uh, you can use whatever graphics you desire. No limits. But at this point in the competition, if you don't have a competent coder, you're in a pretty rough spot if you want to be able to finish a fighting game on time (such projects generally take several months, even with an engine like Mugen)

What do you mean by smthg? And no, there are no rules about graphical styles, you can make the game look however you desire. Anything goes.

Ok cool. I was wondering 'cause everything else is very much 8 bit...
That's partially just that tigsource has a quite high proportion of people who really like the 8-bit style, and partially that it's a good way to get things done quickly for a competition like this. Looking fantastic so far.
