Hey all Smiley I quit my job to go indie a few months back, and I've just finished my first game: Beacon.

Quote
“Beacon” is a sprawling adventure-platformer involving SAD THINGS and MYSTERY. It also has a jetpack. It’ll take you about 15 minutes to play.

It started off as a Ludum Dare game back in December and came 2nd. I've put a few weeks' polish on it since and now I'm putting it out as freeware. I hope you like it and I'd love to hear any feedback, since I'm planning to take the engine and tools on to make something bigger and better!

Incidentally, this is my first post here, so: pleased to meet you Gentleman

Enjoyed it! Really nice atmosphere.

Some of the bits where there were suddenly guns everywhere and lots of death were a bit jarring at first, after spending time just walking round. The respawn was nice and quick though.

I like the use of the double jump for breaking your fall.

I enjoyed it. Short but sweet.

The level design was nice. Normally I hate games where you're backtracking through caves... but you did a good job at making each area unique enough to remember. Like when I found myself heading back to the door, I was able to notice the surroundings instantly and find my way back to it.

Similar games like this only frustrated me because the levels were so repetitive and similar that it was hard to tell where exactly you were at any given time.

This game did a good job of not getting too overly complicated or repetitive.

Yeah I was quite impressed with the atmosphere back when it was an LD entry.  I'm curious to see if anything's changed since your refurbish  Smiley

I'd write a devlog about my current game, but I'm too busy making it.

Loved it, finished it in about 15 min. The ending was great, well done on a great indie game!
