Been following the devlog for The Witness for a while.

a) No, you don't only solve these little mazes.
b) All the art is placeholder; you can actually watch the art improve over time on the devlog.
c) Jonathan Blow will almost always show up in a thread that is talking about him.

The idea that Mr. Blow would be open to people sending him a private email to discuss things is intriguing, I've been interested in asking about his ideas about story in games for a while (i.e. he has said that he'd like games to stop telling stories entirely), but he's nothing if not an intimidating person.
