Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the beagles?

I apologize in advance.

Some things that have been added:

The enemy engine is mostly done. Enemies are now spawning on the map. They can harm player and can be shot down (with owls, if you please Wink )

The whole level start/end/advancement mechanic is working. Somehow, this is always a pain in the ass to write because you need to do a lot of cleanup, reseting, tedious stuff like that.

If somebody doesn't quite feel a man enough - player skin can be switched between boy/girl Smiley

Most of the sound effects are in place.

Me too Grin

On a side, slightly related, note. I made a commitment not to use a single particle effect on this project. So far, I'm keeping up Smiley

This game is so pretty... I love the tiny-sprite style on it! (Plus, I have a beagle so the title totally caught my eye) I can't wait to be able to play it...

Um, may I ask why?

I made a commitment not to use a single particle effect on this project.

Um, may I ask why?

Possibly because:

1- Particles have a tendency to make people tinker with them for hours instead of coding more important stuff.
2- He wants to improve his pixel art animations without relying on particles.
3- He had a bad experience with particles. A very bad one.

It's a mix of all three in 40-30-30 percentages :D

Particles are tempting but love alpha blending. But pixel sprites doesn't love alpha blending. And I love both, alpha blending and pixel sprites. It's a love triangle, see.

Those graphics.. just ..  Grin

It looks fun to play, probably because of the fact that you throw shoot owls at the enemies.

Noo, you do not shoot or throw. The owls are following you and are willingly attacking the bad guys on your command. They sense the baddies mean harm to their fellow animals - beagles Wink

Here are some enemy animations.
Not sure all of them will make it to the final game.
