The project :

As I got a lot of free time lately so I decided to create this project
in order to have a productive pass time.
The main purpose of this project is to be learning experience,
experience that i would gladly share with you.

The project is a Real Time Strategy game with 3d graphics.
It's written in C++ using Opengl and the windows API
(sry no linux, and MAC is a joke to me).

For now the concept art is not decided yet therefore i think
i will keep the simple, abstract and kind of tron-like
style of the first screenshots.

Concerning the gameplay i'm trying in a first time to make it very classic
(units collect ressources, build some factory who train combat unit ...).
In a second time i will head for something a bit more unusual by replacing
the ressource system with something else and also by granting certain unit the ability
to modify the map.

Here is the differents step i will try to achieve :

Step 1 : Achieve a classic playable RTS game.
Step 2 : Create a map/script editor.
Step 3 : Improve the gameplay and add more feature.
Step 4 : Create a campaign with a story and different mods.
Step 5 : ? ? ?
Step 6 : Profit.

What have been done :

-windows API wrap :
  Even handler
Device allocation for the graphic engine

-Graphic engine :
  Load 24 bits bitmap textures
  Directionnal light
  Rendering mesh
  Frustum culling

-Game engine :
  Map :
    Flat Hexagonal grid
  Unit :
    Basic order, move,attack/train other unit
  User interface :
    Strategic zoom (same as Supcom)

21/07/2012 :
Add models and a loading function.
A unit and his weapon are now two different class.

TODO list :
  Create a proper interface.
  Implement worker unittype.
