I think Walljump would be a nice addition, this would force the player to consider better if to jump into the void or not (without having a wall near to decrease the falling damage).

You have unlimited ropes I guess, as the rope dissapears when you throw a new one... have you considered to make the ropes "permanent" so you can, for example, hang several ropes over a cliff?

Anyway, it looks really great and fun.

The rope consumes a lot of cpu so ther can't be many at the same time.
I could use more if I make the algorithm less realistic (less iterations) but I love it the way it is now. I might add the possibility of to let out more rope as I said.

Walljump it's a very possible addition, but I want it to be unique in some way, not another one in the looong history of walljumping.

Also, no double jump.

Maybe you could set the iterations depending on the "distance" of die player to it. so that the unreachable ropes cost less performance.

Changing the number of iterations affects the shape of the rope. If I use less, the nodes will go apart and the rope will appear discontinous.
The rope can be used in a "worms" fashion to cover greater distances though.

Oh, I see... Anyway, one rope is fun enough, specially when it looks this nice. By the way, I have to say that I love your idea to allow throwing away the rope for climbing it later.

First thing that came to mind when I started reading the description was actually Spelunky but was comforted after watching the video(s). Really digging the mechanics so far.. that rope is sweet.

def keeping an eye on this. Really not enough exploration games out there( as if I needed more timesinks). I really like how just exploration can be relatively difficult.

This game look's really great! It's like taking the idea of spelunky and adding mining!
Really like the tiles too.
And hey, if you need any testing to be done I'd be glad to!
