Hey Gents,

Posted an updated Post-Mortem for SteamBirds, including mobile numbers, FGL numbers, MTX numbers, and all that fun stuff:

TL;DR: SteamBirds is at $200K revenues now.  Gentleman

Andy, thanks for sharing this, a question-- do you have any information you'd feel comfortable sharing about the distribution of Android 2.2, 2.1, 1.x devices that bought/played steambirds?

never heard of critical mass before, actually! I'm really interested in it now that it's been brought to my attention though. One of my biggest inspirations was a submarine game for the c64...

Thanks for sharing your numbers. It's really cool that you were able to get huge people to fork out $15 which is relatively huge for a microtransaction.

This was one of the most interesting reads in the Business section so far.  Heck, there's so much to learn from this article I had to take notes!

Definitely a good read for anybody thinking of following such a path.  I'm surprised advertising turned out to be such a bust... well, no after Droqen's comments (in his own thread), I suppose I shouldn't.

It's funny, people (myself included) are so opposed to the concept of microtransactions and yet it CLEARLY works quite well.  I'm gonna have to rethink a lot of things it seems.  Gentleman

weasello: I am was wondering, since you have an android build would you be putting this up on the new Amazon App store? they sell your apps cheaper it seems, but give you a much broader audience.
