10 is despicable - avoid.  6 is a lot of fun and 7 is a pretty similar game in a lot of ways.

I think I enjoyed FF10, but didn't like the temple puzzles. Maybe they'll remove them when they upgrade the graphics for the remake.

ff plots have always been terrible with the possible exception of 4, 6, and 10

I'd agree except I'm not sure that 4 qualifies.  It has some interesting through lines, but the overarching plot is all over the place.

I'm going to say 6 is the best and is perhaps the best ensemble video game story ever.

I just finished The Walking Dead. Ahh, so good! I hadn't played a game in a while that I just couldn't put down, it was really nice.

Don't be silly, Canada is not a real place Tongue. Anyways I've been playing Dungeon Defenders, Left 4 Dead 2, and Team Fortress 2. I really love Tf2 even though it gets a bad rep because of the annoying 10 year old kids whining on mics. I have never seen a fps based heavily on strategy before and I really like it.

Picked up Dustforce again. This game is just... perfect. I love it.
Also playing some STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. Nice to get immersed in an open-world game.

I thought the plot to tactics (the original) was good... But I haven't played it since I was a kid.

the plot is ok i guess (not a huge fan of fantasy political intrigue but to each their own etc.), but both english translations were pretty bad. the original one was full of engrish and in the one they did for the psp remake everyone talks in faux "old english" which is pretty obnoxious.

Playing the new DMC and it's very... very good!

Sure, the story is cliche and the dialogues are nothing special but, it's Devil May Cry!  Tongue

After some time I got used to the new Dante and kinda like him now, since he's younger, the "rebel" attitude suits him more than the old Dante.

The gameplay is pretty fun, just what you would expect from DMC, launching people in the air was made easier, and the chains help you get closer to enemies quickly, so anyone call pull some cool combos. It feels very satisfying trying to fight a bunch of flying enemies without touching the floor, a shame there's no achievement for this!

Also, very impressed by the visuals in the game, great art direction.

I grabbed a key for Heroes and Generals over at RPS. Similarly to BF3 you browse for games and manage your character in a browser window, which is a plus. The main idea of the game is the huge continuity element to it where the Allies and Axis are fighting over towns and factories based on the map of West Europe. So there is a tactical game being played outside of the battlefields that I haven't gotten into yet. Not every point has it's own map (which is understandable) so you will end up playing a lot of the same maps for different cities and the maps are also quite barren and lack detail. After a match is won by either team they claim that map point. The gameplay is alright, deaths are sudden but not unfair and there are a multiple vehicles.

In the end it kind of seems like the simulation of a war is what the developers has put most time into, therefore it doesn't feel as fleshed out in other areas. I wonder how many people will actually get into the strategy element of the game as it is a kind of uninviting game.

I'm not sure what to think of it yet.

Just finished XCOM. Tried playing on ironman from the get go and really liked it. The game is buggy and should get some award for the worst voice acting ever, but it's good to see a turn based strategy still viable in the modern market.

Anybody played Ni No Kuni yet? It looks really gorgeous and interesting.

Just started playing Majora's Mask on an N64 emulator a couple days ago. I owned this game when it came out, but I think I lost interest shortly into it and never picked it back up. Not sure what compelled me to try it again, but it's actually pretty interesting. I'm really digging the surreal, creepy vibe of the game, but other than that it's pretty much Ocarina of Time. I only played OoT probably once and it wasn't a very memorable experience for me, even though many laud it as one of the best Zelda games ever.

Been playing Ni No Kuni.  Gorgeous game, pretty good voice acting, acceptable plot (reminds me of Totoro mixed with Dragon Quest).  The battles are pretty fun and the monster catching/raising is decent.  I'll probably stick with it until the end.
