thinking about getting into the armored core games, where should i start?

Any AC game would be fine. Played both the original and 3; they escalate about the same way and are great for experimentation. If you're interested in the online PvP, get the latest one you can (4/For).

Metal Wolf Chaos
Haha, the game is a blunt japanese parody about USA. Even GTA does it more subtle.

huh? the most recent one is verdict day

fair warning about that one though (judging from ac5 which verdict day is an expanded rerelease of): the game is VERY multiplayer focused, so if youre in it for the single player, get 4 or for answer instead (not sure what exactly the differences are, i only have 4).

Just got to the Zora arc, the swimming is pretty meh. And I wish the walk speed was faster with the Zora mask on, I have to keep switching back to the Goron mask so that I can actually get around on land Shrug

NO they changed swimming with the zora, it is slower, you no longer zip past through in water, much better in the original

I liked the idea of Infinifactory, but the story and audio logs were so offputting that I didn't get past much more than the tutorial levels. Mechanically it's right up my alley, but I can't even think about it without getting depressed.

thats a shame... its a sharp difficulty curve but not so bad once you get to know it. i think its dumb that it doesnt just drop you into sandbox mode. however, it is the best tutorial ever in a game. might be worth a second look.

like when i played the first puzzle after the tutorial i was like 'what the fuck is this shit' but then once i got past the second puzzle i went back and aced it. its actually not that hard to ace all the puzzles in the training. i did it in about an hour.

the audio logs are definitely there to make fun of the player and encourage them to try harder. im fond of the (tutorial spoilers) vogons. the challenge game is exceptionally tight, and hella funny also imo.

Found another suitable USB cable and so gf and I were able to plug in ~two~ DS3 controllers into her PC and play Pokémon Stadium minigames and some Pokémon Puzzle League on emulator. \ö/

Just figured out how to "dash" while swimming, makes it 10x easier Tongue

Managed to get all of the eggs and got to the temple, decided to do the song of time, freaked out when I realized that it reset everything. I was pretty upset until I remembered that I just had to replay the song to get back to the temple Embarrassed

Hehe, I hope they made Gyorg easier. He is the worst boss.

they made all the bosses easier. too much so imo. odolwa is downright trivial if you bomb him with deku nuts from above to stun him. he doesnt even get a real chance to hit you. its not bad because its easy per se, it just feels broken, almost like an exploit (even tho its a legit strategy that the game expects you to use).

I liked Gyorg in the original, it felt at least like a challenge, however they change him completely in the remake, you have more option and the second part is underwater completely. They made big eyes to all boss as weak post too.

so when does the internet reach the point where "the remake does a few small things worse than the original" turns into "the remake is terrible"?

i know itll eventually happen because this is the internet gaming community we're talking about here.
