Panzer General. The original game in dosbox, again. As always it is even better than I remembered it to be.

Going through a lot of smaller games I didn't have time for before. Her Story, Mushroom 11 - liked both. Currently on The Fall and Rain World, well mostly Rain World.

Her Story is so good. I've heard they are doing a sequel.

As for myself, I am playing through Oblivion with my fiancee, and Golden Sun, Morrowind (this time as a magic-only character), and Adventure Capitalist on my own.

That's awesome news. As a huge lover of well crafted TV shows that game was a huge hit with me and would love to see more done with the format.

Fuck...

Nier: Automata, Persona 5, Horizon: Zero Dawn, or Nioh? Which do I get (I can only afford one right now)?

I am leaning towards Nier or Persona, but Nioh looks awesome too. Everyone seems to be losing their shit over H:ZD but for whatever reason the thought of yet another big open world game is not really appealing to me at the moment.

Other suggestions?

As much as I liked the demo for Nier and as awesome as Nioh looks I had to go with Persona. Now that I am mostly done with the 1st-of-the-month crunch (roaming around paying bills, getting groceries, etc.) and actually have some time to game a good JRPG sounds nice. I'll probably get Nier or Nioh in June.

Playing Android games on an emulator on a PC (was looking for a perfect time-killer but some of the candidates are too heavy on the battery and/or require an internet connection to work). Some of those that failed at one of those requirements are fairly good on their own, though. I'm loving the ccg/rpg hybrid genre.

What emulator are you using? I have been looking for one for dev, but don't know the landscape ...

Persona 5,

Hands down this has got to be the best Persona game I've played, even topping out P2:IS/EP. They've basically taken the best aspects of the prior Persona games and combined them and then built on top of them.

There is the battle fluidity of 3/4 combined with the tactical aspects of 1/2 and the main character is able to converse with the enemies and recruit and switch between them as personas and the dialogues do a great job of tying in to the dungeon themes/goals.

Though I've heard there are still randomized dungeons they are side dungeons this time around, the main dungeons are pre-designed and have puzzles and different bits of interactivity and have a strong connection to the story.

The character interaction is great and this time around the story wastes no time kicking into action and has some of the most mature themes in the series. I think they've really hit their stride with this Persona, I've yet to hit a dull moment or even a moment where whatever action I was undertaking didn't contribute to something substantial.

Aside from the obviously awesome HUD and menus, the game looks pretty fucking beautiful despite not having the most complex 3D going on. The color usage and composition really sets the game off.

I think this is game is quickly climbing to the top of my "most favorite RPGs ever" list. It has "instant classic" written all over it.

Re-playing Gomo.
I paused the game, just to play one more time with Zoltan's Excavator 4000. I think I will make myself an excavator simulator...
