So I’ve finally started on a game. It’s called Linear Dungeon Crawl, and is coming along fairly well.

The idea is that it is a fairly standard dungeon crawl-type game, but is much more linear, in the sense that you can only move left and right. Combat is pretty simple, you and the enemy each take turns. Basically you choose perform an action and the enemy performs their’s immediately after.

You basically just run around the dungeon killing monsters, collecting loot, and other such stuff. I plan on it being procedurally generated (should be simple with it being linear), and possibly online highscores (which is really the only point, get the highest score possible without dying)

I have an early preview here: Click

So far it has:

Early level generation
  • 1 enemy
  • Basic combat
  • Cheat key (give health)
  • Occasional “decals”. Meant to give at least a little visual variety for now

I plan on adding to this over time. My plans right now are below:
  • Finish combat functionality
  • Menu system
  • Items
  • More monsters
  • Treasure
  • Rooms and Paths (More complex dungeon layouts)
  • More visual variety (Dynamic lighting or possibly semi-transparent texture)
