sad to hear, good luck with your art and future projects though. it's kind of sad to see it end for me in particular, since you once told me part of the reason you started to keep a daily devlog about it was because i kept one; my hope was that anyone who works on a game at least a little bit daily was bound to finish it sooner or later, so this is sort of a blow against that idea
also, have you considered releasing what you made so far? since there are doubtless many people (including me) curious about what it'd like to play it, even in a very incomplete state

It's sad. But ahh well, what can we do?
It's in a way, like watching something grow, and mature, like a person. And then it dies.

We are gathered here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. And yet it should be noted, in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human.

Hey guys, I just wanna say thanks for all your support through this project! As you can probably tell I've put it to sleep.
I'm going to be focusing on my artwork from now on. Sorry to everyone I disappointed and thanks again for the support.
Sorry to hear that - hopefully all your hard work will someday be reworked into new projects.

I have never expected that, thinking that you are only taking some great secrets advances and blow our minds with a great announcement. It's a shame because this devlog is the first one I read in this forum and was awesome. But the show must continue... Good luck with your new projects and artworks. And please, release at least the last version of "The Archer". But not the design documents though. Maybe this sleeping beauty will, one day, wake up by his shining knight with his almighty bow. I hope for this day to come

my hope was that anyone who works on a game at least a little bit daily was bound to finish it sooner or later, so this is sort of a blow against that idea
I gave up on my own project for about a year. The break allowed me to change into the monster that was needed to finish the project. Which still isn't finished. Now if you'll excuse me I have a village to burn down.

This hurts so much because this project was such an inspiration for me. At the same time it fuels me to finish my game.

Awwww! I really wanted to play this game. Shame to hear that you're not continuing it. Was it too ambitious? or fatally flawed somehow? WHYYYYYYYY!

Now if you'll excuse me I have a village to burn down. this seems to be assuming something that hasn't happened yet, tho. in my experience extended breaks from a game are much more likely to lead to that game never being finished than to lead to the person returning to them and finishing them. both happen pretty regularly though. i've even seen a game (back in the ohrrpgce community) that was given up on and then restarted *five times*, over the course of nine years, called " fantasy under a blue moon x" (in the link, scroll down to #1). it wasn't ever finished, although the unfinished version was still pretty fun
