I could see this. Convince the populace to become brainwashed by slogans and fads, and then use these to lure them into your alien corporate human-grinding machines. It would play in a style like Pandemic and Infectionator, in which you take turns in days between capturing humans and creating new miracle diets and fast food products to attract more humans.

Well, personally i think it matters where you buy your stuff. It's not just a matter of exchanging goods anymore, it's also a choice of who you want to trade with.
