Ok, a few issues:
- You can't mouse over from one unit portrait to the next to read the cost/description. You always have to mouse from "open" space to the portrait.
- There is no "attack" action, and the cursor never changes to indicate you are attacking something.
- The slave AI automatically attacks an enemy entering their area, but won't automatically go back to mining. Sorta annoying.
- The icons for building things seem unnecessarily small, and since they are all drab grey they are hard to tell apart.
- No health bars on-screen
- Whipping a slave causes them to run around in a panic, which is pretty annoying. I ended up never using that mechanic because micro-managing it is too painful.
I played the first mission twice and stopped. The somewhat awkward controls paired with only being able to make 2 units didn't entice me to play further. Seems like a good start to an engine, but the usability could use some love!
Also, IPX? Psh, I won't be happy until you support null modem cable as a multiplayer option :D
