I'll release the stats soon, I just need to answer a lot of emails, send some more press releases, etc...  Tired All this stuff is much harder than actually making the game.

But I can advance that there's nothing epic going on. We sold like 18 copies on our blog and 10 on Desura in the last 24 hours. Which is not bad, the total units sold so far (including pre-orders) should be around 200 or something. But I'll get into more detail tonight!

awesome game! i just played through it and enjoyed it a lot. really great art and music and the controls felt very nice. i liked the puzzles where you had to do a short teleport while a longer teleport projectile is in transit. the game has a nice sense of humor as well (loled at the "space box"). good luck with the sales - i think it's a shame that games of this size don't get more interest.  Wizard

center]Actually Selling the Game: Two days later[/center]
So, I just got some time to write this down :D Sorry for the gap between one report and the other.

We released the game around 1AM of February 21. We didn't had any marketing or anything, just sent some email telling everyone, twitted about it and we made a new posts. We got featured on some big sites and blogs here in Brasil (like Kotaku BR) and on Indiegames.com. I thought that indiegames.com would hugely impact our sales... it don't. I mean it had a big impact (there are a lot of people coming to our site from theirs) but it's nothing huge like I had imagined.

Another thing that is costing much more time than I imagined is the support. We are receiving tons of emails, mostly people saying that enjoyed the game, something that is really inspiring to us. We also received a LOT bug reports (usually nothing serious, thank god the game is running on most PCs) and a bunch of "game design tips" (some are really good and constructive, others look like that were made by some annoying kid).

Well, let me share the actual statistics:

Day One
Desura: 13 Units Sold
Our Website: 7 Units Sold
Total: 20

Day Two
Desura: 18 Units Sold
Our Website: 21 Units Sold
Total: 39

I'm not sure why people started buying on the second day, I think that's probably because they were waiting for some game review or reaction of the pre-order guys. But that's just speculation.
Another interesting fact is that the percentage of Brazilian buyers is getting smaller and we are receiving some more international attention, which I think is awesome  Grin

That's it for today!
I'll post more statistics soon.

Edit: I almost forgot, the big total number of units sold so far: 245

More people should buy it, it's really good...

Have you sent it to www.rockpapershotgun.com yet?
They usually talk about more "obscure" titles there.

Hello again!
And thank you for the support everyone! So, it's been more than a month that the game was released, and I think I'll do a last update on the sales stats!

@tuba: Yes, we sent them. But they didn't post anything.

We have sent our game to Steam 3 times already, and we also had no response. Well, we're still waiting Smiley

Our total sales numbers are:
Desura: 121
Fastspring (our website): 264
Indivania: 3
Total: 388

It's no big deal, but I'm very happy with the result so far.
Selling Out There Somewhere wasn't about the money actually, was about learning how to do this and mostly to show our game to people. We got a lot of interviews and reviews, so I must say that even though the game didn't payed its production costs it was a success.

Soon I'll post some more info on our next game! (But we won't abandon OTS, we plan to release an update correcting a few stuff soon).

I bought the game and just finished it! (Twice, for getting all cores), and It's fantastic!

The mechanics remembers me of Portal, and I wish there were plenty more puzzle rooms to solve! It's amazing!

Great job, guys! Smiley

Keep up the good work!
