I stick stickers on slabs of cardboard ten hours per day, working the mexican shift. Twelve to ten. College students saving up to pay for their credentials work the morning shift, but they all leave as my shift starts.

I like it. Nobody bothers me. Back at Rose Wreath, people hated me because I read books during break. They crowded around me once, the entire warehouse full of them, and stared when they discovered I was reading. "What the fuck are you, some kinda college boy?" asked one old man. The rest muttered something in agreement to his feelings. I just closed the book and stared back at them. "Who do you think YOU are?" I asked, "Don't you know EVERYONE hangs onions from their belt?" Nobody answered. I went back to reading. As break ended, and everyone returned to their stations, I heard a woman far in back say, "I used to bring books to work, but I didn't READ them." What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

Anyway, at my current temporary warehouse job, nobody speaks English except the supervisor, who is always far too busy yelling at the girl who doesn't speak any english except for numbers to pay attention to me. It's a real Han Solo-Chewbacca relationship they have going. Ms Supervisor stands there, yelling her frustrations. "You're miscounting! You're miscounting!" And her employee defensively states "fourteen and twoteen! Fourteen and twoteen!" until the supervisor just puts her face into her palm and mutters, "I quit."

But like clockwork, she's back thirty minutes later, shouting again.

It's like I'm a cog in some old cuckoo clock.

i'm starting to believe that when you actually talk to smithy in person, he doesn't talk directly to you; he just makes up a verbose parable or story and reads it aloud, conveying his thoughts through the story.

Standard Mac aluminium keyboard, and a Edirol PCR-M1 music keyboard.

There are a lot of very clean desks here  Shocked  Mine isn't looking too bad at the moment, as i had a throwing away session a week ago, so the floor is fairly tidy.

Are there any other 'throw it behind the monitor so it isn't in the way' type people on here, or is it just me?

Cheers

Why not? Here is Story Fort HQ in all its basement glory Smiley

Here you can see my desk setup, Viking SpongeBob, a wedding photo, and my awesome marble President plaque:

I'm sure Apple will be on the phone soon, they'll be wanting to use this photo to promote their brand lifestyle! XD The crisp packets on the floor are a nice touch.  My desk gets a few papers on it now and again, and right now there are two glasses and a mug, but I can't work if its too messy.

A very retro looking game setup there! Smiley  Nice big music keyboard too!

Not only are the TV and consoles semi-vintage, the amount of things connected to the power-plugs (computer, scanner, speakers, keyboard, amp, vcr, nintendo, playstation and a couple of lamps) means the lights blow way too often unless I turn off things by the power whenever I'm not going to be using them for a while. The cost of lightbulbs has probably offset the free-ness of the ps2 and tv.
