Who the fuck is the crazy bastard with over 1000000 points? You should really upload a video so we can see how it's done.

If it helps, I played the game without crashes for a good while, but after the game crashed the first time, the game has crashed almost every single game since.

Here's another screenshot if that helps.  Nothing special seemed to be happening.

From the debugging it seems to be something fairly internal that's bugging out, so it doesn't seem to be visible in the actual game as an error. Not sure myself, but Terry is onto it.

Ok, it's finally done :D

You can download the new, final version here - or just here, which is the same file, since it's final and everything Smiley This new version fixes the crash bug which Melly helped me find (long story short, it was an insidious array bounds thing), and also fixes a minor problem with powerup placement. I've also cleaned up some of the menu screens (press left and right to navigate), and  I've added another two pages to the highscores (which filled up faster than I was expecting Shocked ).

Thanks for playing it, everyone - hopefully this is the last version you'll see Gentleman

Oh, one thing - if you want to keep your previous highscore and online profile, copy over profile.dat from the previous version into the new data/ folder Smiley

And I commemorate the bug-squashing of this game by cleaning the floor with you all on the high-score table.  Gentleman

Terry is a great coder. Maybe one day I'll be able to get him to do a project with me. Kiss

I've played so much that I see blue bullets and power-ups coming towards me when I close my eyes and I'm still stuck at 600,000.
But at least I have two more spots on the highscore and nothing else to do for the rest of the day.

This game doesnt like to be recorded!

I managed to record a 1.5 million round though.
http://ihateui.com/blurg2.zip

However the framerate is pretty bad.
I first tried with FRAPS and it was even worse.

That was sick!
I got to 1,300,000 my last try but I play alot more careful than you, saving ammo and so on. Seems your tactic is better Smiley

Maybe Terry can think of a way for the game to have replays in post-compo updates, though that could be a big hassle.

I've found out that running in Windowed Mode in game with
Hypercam produces nice framerate.
So that is a suggestion to people who's gonna record in realtime.

Not a bad video at all Smiley I'm not sure what you can do to make the game record better, though - the game runs at 60fps, and I think most of these programs can't really manage anything more than 30 Sad Unfortunately my Camtasia capture didn't come out very well either...

I'd really like to record a video for youtube or something though, so I've been thinking of adding something like Melly suggested to record an in game replay, then outputting each frame as an image with a sound cue sheet and tying it altogether Smiley I need to do it for Ciellus anyway, so I might try to set that up this weekend!

If Terry needs chippies made for his next game or something, Im willing to help.

Hello again!

Starcraft records like crap, noiz2sa records like crap, Self Destruct records like crap. (many dosbox games records like crap)

What do those games have incommon?

They all run legacy screenmodes with 8 bit graphics.

I think the recording would be flawless if it ran in 16 or 32 bit.
Just a thought :O

But yes, a replay file system would be neat!

And you would want to fix the highscore system later :X its flawed.
but we can talk about that in PM.
