I sucked as both dudes. I tried like too many times and never got far. So I stopped trying. Wonderfully motivated, aren't I?

This thread made me check out DS programming. It's pretty cool.

yeah the second ship is easier to play with i think and has much more interesting mechanics...but it still took me about 50 lives or so to start to really get the vibe and feel of the game.  but it is quite good.

I liked the harder ship.. the one where you smash your self into other ships and collect guns! But I didn't get used to that one for a few dozen plays of the other ship.

you know a tigsource collab targeted to DS wouldn't be so bad.

I am finding that it's relatively simple if you use PAlib. You need that and devkitPro though.

With enough effort I guess, you can port and rewrite games to DS.

Knowing the limitations of the DS platform, i think it would be a lot of work (or rewrite for some cases) for verry few reward (lower exposition than PC, i mean that it's easier to try you game if i don't have to have hardware AND hacking software to play it; easier to program, in fact all the easy grpahics effects you can have on PC for cheap are problematics on DS).

If you want to make a game quick like compos and want to work on the game more than on the technology, i think you should keep computer programming.
Portages may be interesting for technical people though.

My 2 cents.

Yeah.. that would be! I heard of some company making online play happen with their independently produced DS title (from France I think?)..  Cool
