New feature, door animation generator tied to the windows login name.

Kind of like Podunkian's "Dungeon" game, except more whimsical and less subtly inflammatory.

Finished the demo and took the survey. Good stuff! I know it's more of a techdemo but since this is pretty story-based is there going to be any cinematics/gameplay before you're already on the boat? Just curious.

I didn't have much trouble figuring out what to do but I didn't notice the key on the floor for a bit. I mentioned this in the survey and I know someone in the thread brought it up as well, but once you enter the room where you fix the clock you can't exit the room. Is that intentional?

In the first post it says it's his "summer project" so he's probably only able to work on it during vacation times. We're gonna have to wait.

That was a trippy ending. Nice demo! Looks great. Keep going. Like someone else said, a greater introduction than... none... would be awesome to have in the final game.

As of right now there is a programmer working on the game. Unfortunately it's not at the top of his priorities so it might be a while before the game is out. thanks for keeping interest guys.

Could your whip your programmer already? Like whip and punch your programmer, whichever works, or cake, give them cake.

I've gone through a few programmers on this now, but everyone has flaked on me. I don't have the time to program it myself.

So I'm guessing you guys've got some stuff you're juggling in the meantime? Or you gonna join us in the Games forum as we "destory" our terrible backlogs of shame? (Games we've been meaning to tackle playing but haven't gotten around to yet.)

is..is anyone still here?

It's been three years since the last update. Ryan and I are excited to say that today we have another.
Over the past three years we went through quite a few programmers. None of them got past the demo. Since we were just waiting on Merrily Perily and Cat Poke HD to be done, and didn't want to have another project just waiting for programming, I decided to just code it myself. So I guess what I'm trying to say is:

"Great! So I can play now right?"
Well, no, not yet. I have definitely gotten further than the demo, but I'm not done!

"Well geez. Why are you even telling us then?"
Ryan and I both really enjoyed logging the development and getting feedback from all of you. Now that development is back on, we would like to start posting updates in here again!

"Alright. Alright. So the game will be browser based still, right?"
No.. Just like every game I've coded in the past, this is being done in Multimedia Fusion 2. This comes with good news and bad news. The bad news is that the only exporter I can use is exe, so the game will be PC only. The good news, however, is that I will absolutely be able to finish the game this year.

"Back? I don't even know what this is!"
No problem, just check out the Squiddershins page for more info!

Glad to hear! Feels good to be working on it again.

Another little gif. This is Strike meeting Ratchet [the dog] and Brazo [the luchador] In that intro gif two posts ago, we were using a down arrow for interaction points, but I changed it to a thought bubble. I'm thinking for talking to people it can be switched out for a "...". Let me know what you guys think!

A preview of the new menu we have in the game currently. This is actually like the 5th iteration we did for the menu. For anyone who remembers the menu in the demo, we got rid of the save/quit/continue buttons, and added a to do list. The whole thing feels a lot better design-wise.
