Many will argue the Final Cut. But I'd say either the assembly that comes with the box set Blu-Ray or the Director's Cut. Ridley fucked around with the colors way too much on the Final Cut.

i'm looking for a french movie: The setting is a woman inviting several persons to a dinner and she ends up accidently killing all of them. I remember a scene when one guy tries to get behind her when she's cooking and he somewhat get his hand stuck in a mixer and stuff like that.
I watched the movie around 2000 and i thought that the movie title was. "Pas de dessert pour le commissaire" but never found it again.

Stop at the second. Though the third on isn't THAT bad, it's kind of weird. It's almost like the first.

actually first of all read the original script (actually a good standalone read) then feel cool when you see how literally every subsequent piece of Alien media swipes unused ideas from it!

Hateful Eight was a pretty entertaining movie. I enjoyed how it felt like a stage play with the very limited range of settings and characters. Good performances all around too. I watched the analog version with the intermission.
It's pretty much Reservoir Dogs in the old west tho. Seems Tarantino is just repeating himself at this point. The second half in particular feels like Tarantino on autopilot, just throwing all of his old tricks together. Shame too, because a lot of the more interesting themes developed in the first half get thrown out of the window. Also the score by Morricone is mediocre as heck.
Also just like Django Unchained, the movie is not really a good western at all.

I agree on every point. I was thoroughly underwhelmed by The Hateful Eight but gosh danged if I wasn't entertained. It bothers me cause the movie felt so lazy and self-indulgent.

Going a little more in depth:
The movie had pacing issues. I mean the central plot is basically a whodunnit story, right? Fair enough, but unfortunately the movie takes forever to actually get to the point where this becomes clear. About half of the stagecoach scenes could have been cut imo. Also the civil war and racism themes which are actually pretty interesting and the main source of tension between the characters in the first half are just forgotten in the 2nd half as everyone shoots each other in the face and spouts quirky oneliners.
Speaking of which, Tarantino's trademark "random" violence feels like a gimmick in this movie. Something that is only there because "it's Tarantino". For instance, do we really need to see Kurt Russell smack Jennifer Jason Leigh in the face every 5 minutes? The first time it happens it's still kind of shocking (or actually not really, because "it's Tarantino" lol), after that it just becomes tiresome. Same goes for most of the other violent scenes, actually, including most of the second half. The "duel" between Samuel L Jackson and Bruce Dern was good tho.
I'd say "self-indulgent" is a pretty fair assessment. Hateful Eight is what happens when a director becomes too famous and respected for other people to ever question their decisions I guess. This seems to happen with writer-directors quite a bit.

Well reservoir dogs was a stealth remake of some hong kong movie and hateful eight is a stealth remake of the thing (which he made the actors watch prior filming), so it safe to say Tarentino is not repeating himself but others.

it even quotes the score of the thing (which is legit because it's a morricone score, too)
