I really enjoyed watching Now You See Me 2. I haven't seen the original so I don't know how it fares next to it, but the sequel is a fun movie with tons of over-the-top magic tricks.

swiss army man is fantastic.

also, finally saw blood simple. what a strong debut for the coen bros. i saw barton fink directly afterward and i am still blown away by how good/funny/nightmarish that movie is.

Nerve is great, quite an unsettling movie from the beginning to the end.

really? i got the vibe that it was just "we liked The Game so much we tried to make it ourselves but we didn't know how to do it as good as david fincher"

but uh i'll give it a shot if people are of the opinion that it's worth it

I haven't seen The Game yet, so I can't compare to it in terms of quality, but by a synopsis I read of it it sounds significantly different. It's worth checking out.

Buncha friends dragged me along to see Arrival. It was surprisingly very good. Pretty "deep" for a Hollywood movie. It feels a bit emotionally detached and cold, despite attempts to insert some EMOHSUNZ into it via the daughter subplot. But that's ok seeing as it's more of a "concept" movie.

Also nice to see a "scifi" film giving a discipline like linguistics some props, after what feels like 50 million movies about physics lol.

check out the short story it's based on, it's a little more artful. agreed that it's really good, tho. definitely in my top ten for the year.

top two for me are la la land and the handmaiden

it's actually kind of an anti-action movie lol. there are all these tanks and military everywhere, but as tanner says there's only 1 explosion and the climax is the big showdown that everyone expects being prevented from happening last minute. there is a very clear (imo) message about non-violence winning out over warmongering.

I have never seen a movie before in my entire life. Where should I start, TIGSOURCE. I am only used to entertainment that I can play with these hands of mine.
