Watched Rogue One.

Like people said here, it was OK.

It's a good Star Wars spin off movie, mainly to oldies like me that grew up with the series, a lot of references and pandering to old fans, not sure about it's appeal to a young audience tho. I wonder what their thoughts are about a movie like that. As for me, I can't wait for episode VIII.

I will rate the last 5 movies I watched with 1 word.

Rogue One - enjoyable
Jason Bourne - boring
Ghostbusters (2016) - decent
Captain America: Civil War - epic
Coherence - trippy

Saw The Wolf of Wall Street yesterday. A bit too long, but a very good movie through out.

47 Ronin - Is the general fantasy swordmanship flick, but enjoyable. Too bad most people in it were like dosing the entire time.

I strongly recommend everything by Taika Waititi, from best to worst (IMO):

 Boy
 Hunt for the Wilderpeople
What we do in the Shadows
 Eagle vs Shark

I recently started to really enjoy movies with children protagonists (Boy, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Moonrise Kingdom). This is what we should be showing our children instead of mind-numbing Disney cartoons.

Other amazing movies I saw last year:

 Captain Fantastic
In the embrace of the serpent

Seriously, watch all of those, I have EXCELLENT TASTE

Chungking Express and 2046.  I'm really digging Wong Kar-Wai's style.

My favorites are recently watched Ashes of Time and In the Mood for Love.

Arrival is based on Story of Your Life by Ted Chiang, my favorite scifi writer.

It was cool, since I randomly googled him to see if he was up to anything, and saw the movie (which I had not heard of) was out.

It was a fun experience seeing the movie knowing the events ahead of time.

The original story plays with tenses in a way you wouldn't even notice on a first read.

I just saw Arrival a few days ago and thought it was incredibly beautiful. I've never read the book, but just heard good things about it so I decided to watch. The idea of "the language" really struck a chord with me. I felt that movie itself is a "language" as well which gave the audience (at least for me) sort of a feeling of what they would've felt in future Smiley
