They had an old black and white photo in the opening credits with a person strung up, which was apparently authentic. That's all I could find online.
thinking back on it (don't think i still have the magazine, but it was either "uncut" or "mojo") it was kinda obviously a joke that i didnt get because of my bad english at the time. also if it wasn't it'd probably be talked about everywhere instead of... uh.. nowhere.

The Proposition.

(The western with Guy Pearce. It's good. Brutal. Poetic.)

I remember seeing that in the little Univeristy theatre mebs 6 years back.  The ticket guy walked in before the movie started and said anyone could leave now and get their money back otherwise sit tight.

There were three very old people in the row in front of me.  The suggestion must have worked. I kept thinking, whoa.. is this going to go all Guinea Pig Collection on us?

Pretty good movie.  Would love to watch again..

Here's one.  Started last night and then fell asleep.  Want to watch it with a coffee and not a drink in hand this weekend.  Beyond the Black Rainbow.  As I watched it and had just been playing FarCry Blood Dragon, I was trying to imagine building all the scenes as if they were images I was loading in and moving around.  I can say much about the story, but visually it was pretty cool.  Lots to take away and play with.

BtBR is like someone gave a music video director three hours and all the hard plastic he could play with.

It's flawed and slow as hell but I love how it builds and relieves tension.

Watched Just Like Being There last night.  Pretty decent indie documentary about Gig Posters.  My only hang-up... too many bands talking and not enough art and artists.  But when it was there it was there.

Screen-printing machines are so cool.

My buddy tried to get me to watch Inglourious Basterds with him and I quit the movie after 10 minutes.  I'm getting to the point that I don't like having my emotions manipulated by media.  Also, I've had my share of violence and insanity IRL and I'm starting to detest such things as a form of escapism.

Which is an incredibly stupid thing for an aspiring game designer to say. I guess I prefer abstracted violence.

You knew what it was for those ten minutes though.

tarantino is style over substance but i like him. his shit becomes more enjoyable if you just think of him as a kid who grew up watching european b-movies on vhs and is now making his own dream b-movies using hollywood budgets.

The grindhouse double feature is probably my least favorite of his works.

IMO Tarantino is still making interesting films. The pipesmoking scene from Inglorious Basterds is amazing, that bar scene too. Django was also really solid.

he's also very good at picking the right actors.

also i find that most of his films (particularly the later ones) are a lot more fun if u know the movies he's referencing/ripping off/taking music from.
