It is one of the best games ever made and you will think so too.

So Derek now that you have sold out, are you going to spend the rest of your life giving interviews discussing the philosophy of video games and never make a game again?

Or will you do what Jonathan Blow is doing and make another game?

Best avatar awards ever.
I really like the changes to the physics, though I'm still getting used to throwing strength.
Also, pugs only is the best way to play.

I played through to the end of the trial (start of the Jungle), and I must say I really, really like the improved controls. I'll probably hold out for the eventual PC release, though. Oh, and one thing - hanging onto a wall below me while holding a rock causes me to be hit by the rock. Is that normal? I don't remember it doing that in the original. My pet rock has killed me more than once.

I don't have a xbox but I'm still happy about the release because it means Derek will be able to organize some competitions now

What a game. BRUTALLY hard though, even harder than spelunky. And yet less frustrating*! Super goddamn cool.

Just wanted to chime in and say congrats derek and company. Me and my roommates are giving it a thorough co-op play session today and enjoying it immensely so far. I too echo the thoughts of others in this thread and think the new graphics look great ( i played the PC version previously). Good job.

This is a pretty fun game, nice and polished too, I'm just playing it with my brothers in co-op (they're bad at games which makes it even more amusing). So Derek, are you going to spend the rest of your life giving interviews and never make a game again?
I doubt he's doing a 2Dboy, it was obvious he was starting to prototype new games when he made that GM 8.1 thread a couple of weeks ago.

Dammit, it looks amazing. The merry graphics and jazzy synth music are a departure from the retro-ness of the original, but i think they mesh well, and give the game a style and feel of its own. Actually, i sense some sadism to it, the player dying over and over in gruesome ways to a happy tune with colorful cartoony blood blobs splashing all over the place. Like getting stabbed with a candy cane. Much less gritty art-wise than the original, which had a cold and brooding feel to it.
I love the fact that, unlike in the original (probably due to limitations of the gamemaker engine) stuff happens off-screen. It looks like you can toss a bomb several screens down or have a rolling boulder go offscreen, and still have full-blown mayhem happen.
So, will there ever be a PC version? I have been reduced to watching lets plays on youtube, due to my lack of a Xbox360. It really looks amazing, want to play it.

I just found out that you can pick up the harmless little animals. Awesome. Also the twitches after you die on spikes are really disturbing.
