Recently I got a job, and I don't think you really care that much (this is game feedback after all not life feedback) so basically I had to make a Game Maker Game and it had to be simple and I have no idea how to make games simple, so I just made it in a short time instead!
(Also, if you want the source, do ask. I will comply.)
It's a simple little platformer. You, uh, dodge stuff. Try not to die too much; it makes a big mess of things. Have fun. Tell me what you think.
Sorry about the dark blue background. Most levels have backgrounds that are kinder to the eyes. Let me know if you beat this level. (Spoiler: You have to figure out how to get to it first)

It was rather addictive. Now I stay in white level with "The End" text and I don`t know what to do, I can`t reach the orb. Is it real game ending?

pretty good fun! I got to 'the end' screen but I guess there's more? I didn't find that level this is the only game I think I've played which makes the game *harder* each time you die . I never got stuck for too long, but I suspect if I did die enough times to really obscure the path that would be the end of the game for me . but, that didn't happen and fun was had

The white ending is a true ending.
You can't do anything more once you're there.
I should probably hide the orb or something so the message is really clear! Oh well

I am not sure that I played level from the screen in 0 post. (Spoiler: You have to figure out how to get to it first) Is it some kind of secret level?

I like the minimalist look and the game is pretty fun/challenging.
In my opinion it's usually better to reward good gameplay than punish bad. Several times I had to restart the game, because I had died so often in the crux of the level that it made getting past it impossible.

Nuprahtor: It is. Here is a hint --> suicide will get you nowhere.
Joshua, re 'DEAD DEAD DEAD': What about games with limited lives? This is different, hard to compare, but I like the flavour it has. Also on the levels where you can take a few different paths, it promotes taking a fresh path. (Also also, it reminds you of where you have the most difficulty -- albeit in a violently obscuring way.)

Drogen: You make a solid point, many games do only allow a limited number of lives. Don't get me wrong, I think it's an interesting effect. An additional thought. When I first played, I thought the DEAD's were solid (because they were black) but quickly figured out they weren't.

Perhaps a white character may help? Unless you wanted the DEAD to obstruct the players view of the character then that's fine too.

Yes that was totally my intention (though I do like the white character) also two colours and only two colours (except the orb, because it is cool) Do you want to know what was not my intention? thiiis D:Also because this game was created for a gamey-makey camp, I have the source code available for you: DLYH.gmk (GM8)
