i'm not sure if this is the proper section for this thread. please move it to another place if it's better! i just found out this incredible tool and i felt i had to share with the community. specially with those who use game maker as their primary development tool. it's called GMare.it's an "alternative" to the built-in default editor present in game maker, and believe me, it does a far better job than yoyogames' silly editor. there is zooming in/out, copy-pasting tiles and even a bucket tool for tiles! aside from having all the features present in game maker's editor, this thing can export to .bin files!!if you could never be bothered to make your own editor, this is the perfect tool for it. one million cheers to the developers of GMare

Mmmm Gmare has cool features (the ZOOM, very useful while doing low-res)... but I still don't get used to it. Should I try harder?
@poe. Basically you create and save the room as a file, and import it into the game like another resource. The room is added, with all the stuff placed inside.

The Game Maker Room Editor sucks indeed. I'm downloading it right now.

Sorry. I remember now. It's not that you import it: you implement it directly from gmare. A window pops, with your current rooms and tilesets, you name the room, and click ok; it'll appear listed with the other rooms. You can overwrite rooms with gmare, even.

Ah interesting. I would love if gMare had a 3D mode but that must be unrealistic to think lol

It's kind of... difficult to control. And there's no tutorial... Really difficult to use.

I don't know how I didn't see this... EDIT: This looks amazing for tilesets. I'll use it for those, and then put the objects in the level in GM itself.

Considering the amount of tiling I do, this is a godsend. Now to figure out how the hell I use it...

Hmm... I expected.. different. I too find it awkward to use. Well, don't feel like learning right now... Tomorrow's another day.

GM 8.1 has a zoom feature But I see that GMare has other features as well. Can you rotate objects in it?
