Man, you have to check out the gameplay trailer on the official page. The gameplay just looks so fluid. *drools* And this site just might be the best looking promo site ever.

Maybe not, but what means indifferent? I was never a big fan of that shi*y game but will try this one, the gameplay video looks promising.

No. I always thought Diablo was shit. It's like a MMORPG, without the MMO!

I didn't see any magic powers, just taunts, stomps, and leaps. It's like a MMORPG, without the MMO! Sooooo, it's an RPG?

Sorry. What I meant is, it's got none of the things I like in an RPG (good story, character development, choices that affect the story, tactics, etc.) and probably most of the ones I don't (grind, grind, grind, item "micromanagement", dungeon crawling, grind, mostly grind).

Sooooo, it's an RPG? 1) yes, stomps and chops surrounded by lights, flames, lighting bolts, explosions... I know it's a clichè in videogames, but why a special attack must be always executed surrounded by eyecandies, particles and special FXs? A good animation of a barbarian slaughering an enemies in two with a big axe leaving him in a huge pool of blood would be much better for my eyes. Those effects are too much Final Fantasiesque... 2) unluckly no, i think he's talking about the fact that a WoW-like mmorpg is "click click click, level up, click click" online and Diablo is the same but alone Also an RPG have a plot (i mean a real one) and such, diablo is a dungeon crawler of the worse types (the better ones are the roguelikes!). I know, you just can't be a fan of Diablo after playing Planescape Torment

Unlike what some people state, Diablo is in fact not about the grinding, in terms of killing the same baddy for 4 hours to get a level. It's basically one of the very VERY few games centered around character progression with leveling that I enjoyed on the account that leveling was effortless. The game was very well balanced, and being in real time, with a ton of different abilities and little things that speed up the gameplay made it actually very enjoyable. It's simple in gameplay, yes, unless you go to some of the harder difficulty modes, but it was good clean fun.
And the reason why the barbarians cries and stuff were flashy was probably just so, you know, the player could have some feedback of the effects. They probably are a bit over-the-top, but hey, this is Blizzard. And barbarians were the shit.
I do have some criticism for the games however, like how some of the dungeons and areas could easily become a pain in the ass to go through and the game, like 90% of games nowadays, felt artificially lengthened in some areas (evident by the Fifth Act of the expansion, which was concise, imaginative, and awesome in comparison). Other than that I loved it.

They had the same (i.e. effects) in Diablo II, right?
